Dal 17 marzo, anniversario della proclamazione del Regno d’Italia, il Museo di Solferino e l’antica Rocca, da quest’anno millenaria, sono di nuovo visitabili.

Imparare la pace sui luoghi dove infervorò la guerra: gli studenti di ogni classe sono i benvenuti in visita ai siti storici che ricordano l’epopea risorgimentale e gli anni in cui anche il nostro Paese fu in guerra, per fare l’Italia.

A San Martino e Solferino rivive la memoria dell’Ottocento, anni di ideali, rivoluzioni e battaglie. Proprio in questo territorio si concluse la Seconda Guerra d’Indipendenza del 1859 ed un ginevrino, Henry Dunant, dai feriti della Battaglia di Solferino concepì l’idea della Croce Rossa.

Il messaggio umanitario di fratellanza universale è più che mai attuale: due Musei, due Ossari e due Torri a Solferino ed a San Martino, ricordano cosa comportò anche nei nostri territori, la guerra.

Tanti laboratori rivolti agli studenti permetteranno ai ragazzi di conoscere meglio il Risorgimento e conoscendo gli orrori delle battaglie, incarnati anche nelle Chiese Ossario, di apprendere la pace.

Non solo le scuole, ma anche i singoli e le famiglie sono i benvenuti: con il biglietto unico, al costo di 10 euro si possono visitare le Torri ed i Musei a Solferino e San Martino; il biglietto Solferino invece (5 euro) consente l’accesso al Museo ed alla Rocca di Solferino. Si possono anche acquistare i biglietti singoli per ciascun Museo (7 euro Torre e Museo di San Martino, 4 euro Rocca, 3 euro Museo di Solferino).

I bambini sotto gli 11 anni entrano gratis e fino ai 18 anni hanno diritto all’ingresso ridotto (anche gli over 65).

Il complesso monumentale di San Martino della Battaglia è aperto tutti i giorni dalle 9 alle 12.30 e dalle 14.30 alle 19. Orario continuato la domenica ed i festivi.

Rocca e Museo a Solferino sono aperti dal martedì alla domenica, dalle 9 alle 12.30 e dalle 14.30 alle 19.

Ultimo ingresso a Solferino e San Martino, mezz’ora prima dell’orario di chiusura.

San Martino and Solferino: from the battles to the Red Cross

Starting on March 17, the anniversary of the proclamation of the Kingdom of Italy, the Solferino Museum and the ancient Rocca, now a thousand years old, can be visited again.

Learning about peace in the places where war broke out: students of all classes are welcome to visit the historical sites that recall the epic deeds of the Risorgimento and the years when our country was also at war to build Italy.

The memory of the Nineteenth century, years of ideals, revolutions and battles, comes back to life in San Martino and Solferino. It was here that the Second War of Independence ended in 1859 and a Genevan, Henry Dunant, conceived the idea of the Red Cross for the wounded of the Battle of Solferino.

The humanitarian message of universal brotherhood is more relevant than ever: two museums, two ossuaries and two towers in Solferino and San Martino recall what the war meant in our territories, too.

Many workshops for students will teach them about the Risorgimento and the horrors of the battles, also embodied in the Ossuary Churches, and the importance of peace.
